Firm Overview

Newman, Mathis, Brady & Spedale, PLC began its practice in commercial collections more than 30 years ago. Today, we are the largest collections firm in Louisiana. Major financial services companies, including banks, credit card companies and collections agencies, entrust our firm with reducing their delinquencies and increasing recoveries.

We combine the most effective elements of a law firm and a collection agency to achieve performance ratios most traditional agencies and law firms cannot match. The firm combines years of practical experience with an overwhelming drive toward client satisfaction, which continues to make the firm unique.

We handle a high volume of collection files without compromising the personal attention provided to both small- and large-volume clients. Our clients benefit from having the specialized resources of the entire law firm and our vast experience and history available to assist our collection unit. It is our ultimate goal to liquidate claims as quickly as possible, utilizing all available resources. Through more than a quarter century, we have become adept at collecting all forms of delinquent accounts. Our collection division's success remains a cornerstone of the firm, and we have never been more committed to its continued growth and success.

As lawyers, sensitivity to our client's specific concerns and business needs is our primary responsibility. We are mindful of the fact that we represent our clients to the general public. Our interaction with your customers is firm, but courteous. In collecting debts, we enforce standards equal to those our clients would demand from their own staff. As attorneys, we recognize the need to adhere to state and federal laws regulating creditors' rights and collection practices.

STATE-OF-THE-ART TECHNOLOGY

Automation addresses the work process of our collections and aids our lawyers and paralegals in the timely filing of court papers, deadlines and calendar control. Our software ultimately prioritizes the work for our employees and aids in the increase of production and service for our clients.

Our firm offers a broad range of services in the fields of biotechnology, computer law, electronic commerce, high technology, Internet law, patents, and technical licensing.

Our diverse client base includes those who develop and use computer hardware and software, train or consult in the technology field, and distribute technology products and services throughout the United States and the world. Attorneys in our Technology Practice Group have backgrounds in technology as well as the law and have extensive experience in representing clients in contract negotiations for consulting and outsourcing services and matters relating to product development and distribution, technology licensing, confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, and the sale or lease of computer equipment.
